UNITED COMMUNITY BANK CONGRATULATES BETTY ON BEING A MINNESOTA BANKERS ASSOCIATION PIONEER BANKER
Perham, MN-June 20, 2023- United Community Bank (UCB) is proud to announce that Betty VanWatermulen
has been honored as a Minnesota Bankers Association (MBA) Pioneer Banker.
“Betty has been outstanding since day one with UCB. Not many people have a connection with a community as
integral as Betty has with UCB and Perham. It’s safe to say UCB is better because of Betty and her 51 years with
UCB.” UCB President, Charlie Cavanagh.
Betty started her career in Minneapolis where she attended Business School and worked for three years. After
spending time in the Twin Cities, she moved back to Perham to raise a family. Betty started working with
Perham State Bank, now UCB, in April of 1972. Throughout the years, banking has changed. Technology has
made the way we bank and interact with customers easier, and different. Betty has always been at the forefront
on learning and excelling with new technology. She is always first in line to embrace changes. Betty has been an
integral part of UCB and the teller line since she started with UCB in 1972 and has helped thousands of
customers over her years with UCB. United Community Bank is proud of Betty and the many accomplishments she has achieved throughout her career at UCB. We want to formally thank Betty for her years serving the community of Perham, the lakes area,
and all the customers she has helped over the years. Congratulations Betty and thank you for 51 years of
outstanding service and representation of UCB. Betty will be the 198th MBA Pioneeer Banker in Minnesota
history and she will be the second MBA Pioneer Banker in UCB’s history, with the other being Jack Cavanagh,
who served the Perham and surrounding area for 60 years.
